CLASS HISTORY OUR STORY When our class entered into high school, it consisted of twenty-five members. As Freshmen, we elected as our officers: Mona Lussier, President, Donald Culver, Vice President, Beatrice Ward, Secretary-Treas- urer. Patricia Howland and Roger Simkin represented us on the Student Council. We were the first group to get our Senior rings in our Freshman year. As we became Sophomores, our class dwindled to nineteen members. We started in earnest as a group to earn money for our Senior trip. First, we undertook selling maga- zines which was quite successful. Our Sophomore dance, which we decided to call The Bunny Hop, was also colossaI-realiz- ing S8O.2l. We continued to work efficiently under our class officers who were Trudy Reynolds, President, Carol Chamberlain, Vice President, Beatrice Ward, Secretary, and Shirley Skillet, Treasurer. Mona Lussier and Donald Culver voiced our opinions in Stu- dent Council. Our Junior year proved to be a busy and prosperous one. Our activities that year in- cluded a Halloween dance, Senior Banquet, turkey supper, selling of stationery and hats, participation in the Junior-Senior plays, and the Junior Prom, which we called The Stairway to the Stars. The king and queen were Donald Culver and Leona Piatt. All of the students of the class and their dates were the attendants. The officers for this year were Donald Culver, President, Donna McWilliams, Vice President, Carol Chamberlain, Secretary, with Anita Brambley handling the purse WE, THE PEOPLE strings. Our Student Council Representatives were Gertrude Reynolds and Richard Good- elle. A big change that occurred in our Senior Year was that Mr. Simmonds became our homeroom teacher and advisor. Miss Cale- munci dropped teaching to become Mrs. Fitzgerald after being our homeroom teacher for five years. Our class officers were: Presi- dent, Yvonne Cottrell, Vice President, Shir- ley Skillet, Secretary, Beatrice Ward, and Treasurer, Richard Goodelle. Our representa- tives in the Student Council were Anita Brambley and Thomas Ryan, with Donald Culver as Council President and Roger Simkin as Council Treasurer. At the beginning of school, we sold Christmas cards. An operetta was sponsored by the music and English departments and included participants from the entire high school. The event proved to be a great suc- cess. After this, all the Seniors looked for- ward to our trip to New York in April, for which we had worked so hard. This trip in- cluded staying at the Hotel New Yorker and a tour around parts of New York by Van Zile Tours. A big attraction was the famous Easter Parade on Fifth Avenue. Graduation! Four wonderful years for all Seniors! To all Seniors-Congratulations, and the best of luck in the future.
