The Red Cross comes to Sherrard High The Red Cross Bloodmobile was held on March 17, 1988. There were 177 students who were eligible to give blood, out of those 177 students, 59 gave. Out of the 59 donors. 47 were first time donors. Sherrard High reached their goal of 65 units of blood. The percentage of students who gave blood at Sherrard High was 33%, Westmer had 53.5% and Winola had 58.6%. The tenative dates for spring of 1989 bloodmobile at Sherrard High is March 8th or 9th. The Bowl-A-Thon Goes on! The 5th annual MDA bowl-a-thon was held at Sam's bowling alley in Milan, on March 12, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Only 17 bowlers participated this year. Howev- er the bowler’s raised approximately $630 which is $800 less than last year. The students had lots of fun showing off to their friends. Even though the amount of money raised was down, it proved to be an exciting afternoon. Next year hopefully more people will join in on all the fun! Li’l Abner The Spring Musical “Li’l Abner” was a great success and will definitely go down in history. As they say, “The show must go on;” and it did go on even though during the second perfor- mance, the power went out because of a thun- derstorm. The cast sang and danced with flashlight as their spotlight and stole the hearts of their audi- ence.
