Dowd Miss Johnson Mrs. Chauvinet Ruth Kelly Duane Wilson Dr. Sanderson Dr. Chumley Betty Chumley Judge Gaffney E. J. Lofgren The Fantasy World of “Harvey” “ ... That's an interesting story, Doctor... Harvey's story is an interesting one, believe me it is; I told it. Playing Elwood P. Dowd was a challenge, but it also was a sad experience. Par- ticipating in Sherrard's drama the past three years has truly made high school nothing less than wonderful. Unfortunately, this was my last fall play, along with six other seniors, and the general feel- ing after the curtain fell closing night was one of nostalgia and depression. I would encourage everyone to participate in at least one production. It is a worthwile experience; and after all, I'd think Harvey would want you to. Arthur Bergren Sherrard High School Starts A.F.S. Chapter The American Field Service, a new organization at Sherrard High School this year, is dedicated to bridging the gap which exists between our country and other countries of the world. We at Sherrard are proud and happy to have as our first A.F.S. student Sukhuman Ingkasuwan, known to all of us by her nickname “Jim. Jim, from Thailand, has spent the year as a member of the Tom Spengler family. Although she has already graduated from high school in Thailand, she has been a full time student here at S.H.S. There are two A.F.S. organizations at Sherrard High: an adult chapter and a student chapter. The function of the two groups are to support the foreign exchange pro- gram and to raise money. The adult chapter hosted a reception for Jim's grandparents in October, and the stu- dent chapter organized an A.F.S. week in January. One of the highlights of the year was a joint meeting of the student and adult chapters, where Jim gave a presenta tion about life in Thailand. It is hoped that this new foreign exchange program will help bring a new understanding of other countries in the world to us in Sherrard. Top: Mr and Mrs. Tom Spengler are lalking with Jim.
