CONGRATULATIONS TILDEN HENDRICKS When Hendricks resigned from the Board of Education there was much specu- lation regarding his successor. There were many names considered and submitted for the position on the board. Many old- timers were talked about. But it was a newcomer to the political picture who re- ceived the position. Van B, Stith, an ardent sports fan and competent business man, was selected to succeed Hendricks. The students have great confidence that Stith will carry the standard for a great Sherman. Many prominent men have come and gone, but the memory of those who contributed to the growth of our school system will never die. Tilden Hen- dricks will be remembered by his friends as a loyal Shermanite. He resigned his po- sition as president of the Board of Educa- tion to become sheriff of Boone County in early winter.
