ofzewofzd In the dim haze of the distant future, a gray-haired man, fast pass- ing into the winter of life, Will take from the topmost shelf of his library a dusty volume, tattered and Worn by the hands of curious children, and there in the dull glow of the dying embers, he will live again the pleasant days of his high school career. This little volume is published neither for literary critics nor the unsympa- thetic public. Here has been made merely an attempt to record the humorous, the work and the play of Sherman students in the glory of youth. This, the first yearbook ever to be published by the students of Sherman High School, takes in its beginning the rough form of an unpolished gem. CONGRATULATIONS TILDEN HENDRICKS When Hendricks resigned from the Board of Education there was much specu- lation regarding his successor. There were many names considered and submitted for the position on the board. Many old- timers were talked about. But it was a newcomer to the political picture who re- ceived the position. Van B, Stith, an ardent sports fan and competent business man, was selected to succeed Hendricks. The students have great confidence that Stith will carry the standard for a great Sherman. Page sm-1114-7'l: r' Wulhnmlirm Sherman High School has been fortu- nate down through the years with a set of competent oflicials. Many prominent men have come and gone, but the memory of those who contributed to the growth of our school system will never die. Tilden Hen- dricks will be remembered by his friends as a loyal Shermanite. He resigned his po- sition as president of the Board of Educa- tion to become sheriff of Boone County in early winter. Our loss can be balanced by Boone Cfounty's gain, VAN B. STITH
