SCHOOL DAYS My school days are just pages In life's old dark diary In which we wrote of an age That once was so firery. School days are happy days Of which a student wrote Of tricks upon his teacher Played Ihich now he loves to quote ny school to which we go Je study and we plav From those school days we shall grow And those days aren't so gay, Je had our fun in school Jith friends so close and dear, Je used to sit and laugh and fool, lhlch brought us so much cheer School day memories Iere Just a test Which we shall always have Until we go to eternal rest. Herman Daggett '41 FISFING Fishing is the sport for all Ihen noth1ng's left but school Take your tackle from its place And go down to the pool Cast your line across the waves And let your hook go down mere the fish will swarm around, Find yourself a shady seat, All cushioned around with moss Discard all your fretful cares, And be your own darned boss Vaughn Lawler '45 JIMMY' S DOC' Jimmy had a little dog, His fur was snowy white He fell into a bin of coal, And OH' He was a sight. Barbara Ingraham '4l THE HOME ON THE HILL In my dreams a big white home sits there, Way up highg And the breezes which blows around the dome Jill often make me sigh? Many a time I've dreamed of this, But never hoped to see. Because nothing with such hap piness Could be really meant for me A beautiful lane winds in and out Among the swaying trees, And water comes from a long green spout From a pool all hid with leaves There's a floating spray o'er the lawn, mich is a velvet green, And the flowers there grow so tall All these are in my dream Dorothy Sleeper '42 THE COIINO OF QPRINO Spring is co ing once again The birds will soon be back, To tell us of their winter trip, mile on their SOUthu1H track. Amid the llowfrs of the South, Above th waters, oh, so blue Gf many a lovely sc ne.
