Quickly realizing that dang r was at hand, but not knowlng what they could want as nothing of value was on beard, I turned to comply with the tall stranger and as hc opened the door for me I qHlCk1y kleked the button that I used when I needed help from the assistant pllot, thinking that thls m1ght put them on guard But my warning came a bit too 1 te to be of real help, serving only to warn but not to help, The tall stranger stepped rlght in behlnd me and before I could say a word quickly pl ced a revolver agalnst the pl1ot's back Their pl ns h d been perfect so far, helped along by storm, as the pilot had to glve all his attention to guiding great plane In brief words the man told the pilot that he wanted ship t ken b ek over the Mexican border and that he w ntod the the the the pllot also s h1s helper Slowly the pllot turned the plane, c reful to gainst the wlnd nd head d str lght for the Mexlcan flash of llght nlng l1t the sky followed by mighty keep border crash of thunder nd ll was suddenly in darkne s, confuslon, and then I was thrown agalnst the well while the co pilot struggled with the str neer When the llghts c me on, the co p1lot grabbed the 3tranger's gun wrich he h d dropped to +he flour The three regular pas engcrs were t klng care of the other gangster Me nwhlle the pllot w s he ding toward houston to the alr port nd gust s the men flnlshed tring up the g ngster we l nded Jo had w red the oollec to be waltlng for us when we l rd d L b y wer there when we rrlved fe at once turned them over t the pcllce nd I went to m partment, tlred by the n1ght's dv nture It was eftfrward learned th t th wen were dop p ddlers tryln to smuggle d oe acrns the Mexlo n line Marllyn Se vey . . , . - .
