isa Office procedures allows students the opportunity to learn telephone etiquette, filing, mail sorting and other office skills. Students working in the main and guidance offices are graded on attendance, attitude, and readiness to perform skills with minimum super- vision. Students working in the library assist other stu- dents, shelve books, and locate magazines. Julie Adams adds her talents to the pep 'ally. For the students involved in this department music is a method of expression. Orchestra, choir, and band make students know their sharps and flats. The band and orchestra has combined to form a small full orchestra. The band also marches to support the Bearcats and perform concerts in the winter and spring. ln harmony with the whole idea of music, the choirs work to perfect choral techniques. They perform several concerts throughout the year and provide entertainment for assemblies. Department

Physical Education, Health, and Driv- er's Education are required classes for graduation at Sherman High. Eight quar- ter units of PE and Health and one quarter of Driver's Ed are offered to round off the education of the student. PE classes work to perfect physical fit- ness. Organized sports and games and participation in the Governor's Fitness Award are encouraged. Health teaches body functions, drug and alcohol education, and hygiene. Driver's Ed gives the student actual and simulated driving experiences.
