THE PARENT - TEACHER ASSOCIATION. . . . 1949 tfiightl The Executive Board meets with P. T. A. President, Mrs. I-Ianchette, and Mr. Davis. tBe1owJ Mrs. Hanchette and her daughter, Nina Elizabeth, pay an- other visit to S. H. S. iw-Q2 NWT? The accomplishments in the year 1948-49 of the ex- ecutive committee of the Sherman High School Parent Teacher Association and its three hundred forty-three members, with their competent president, Mrs. M. J. Hanchette, have planted seed from which great things are sure to grow. The parents and teachers worked together, enduring the wind, mist, and rain during the football season. From football concessions came S1,739.79, making it possible for the association to present the student body with 81000.00 for the Student Activity Fund, this was the special project for the year. Other donations worthy ot' mentioning were 325.00 to The Sherman Anti-Polio Cam- paign, and the purchase of a 310.00 Tuberculosis Bond. Other than donations. the association had the pillows re- novated for the football stadium at the cost. of S8199-50. By the end of the year, the remaining proceeds from the year's work will have been spent for the full benefit of the student body. 9

SUPERINTENDENT Another one of the many basketball trophies Won by the girls' team is presented to Mr. Landolt for the school by Lorraine Cain, team captain. Superior is the rating of Sherman's school admin- istration according to the evaluation report. Administrative efficiency accompanied by an always friendly smile has been Mr. C. D. Landolt's passport to evcryone's heart. During the past year he has endeared himself even more to students and 'faculty by his untir- ing efforts to better the Sherman schools. High goals are not always popular ones, and the courage of both the Board of Education and Mr. Lan- dolt in setting high goals to be attained for the Sherman Schools set a pace for Sherman's second century. 10
