Um 5 Once more the ATHENIAN makes its appearance to present in word and picture the pattern of high school life in Sherman High School forthe 1943-1944 session Once more the Editor and members of the Staii' View the product of their handiwork in the light of its reception, by their fellow students. l congratulate the student body and the faculty upon the way in which each has carried on in the face of disrupting forces of both an emotional and a physical nature. Of the anxieties you have individually experienced, I have not for a day been unmindful, and for your spirit of cooperation I have at all times been profoundly grateful. P' -...ar 'V I I f I To the Students of Sherman High School: ' You are'T:o be congratulated for your many accomplishments dur- ing the past year as students of Sherman High School. When I think of your contribution to your school and your community, I am proud to have had the privilege of working with you. Youth today is being criticized from many angles. N0 doubt you do have your problems, and doubtless there is some room for criticism. When a careful analysis is made, how- ever, I know that each generation of young people is better than the pre- vious one. Help keep it so! Within a very short time, our Seniors of 19-14 will be leaving Sher- man High School. The entire faculty and I wish for you the very best in life. May you succeed in your every worthwhile ambition.
