PRINCIPAL BYRON DAVIS Mr. Davis came to Sherman 11 years ago to accept a po- sition with the Sherman Public Schools as head of the High School English Department. Before coming to Sher- man, Mr. Davis was an English teacher and principal of the high school in Albany, Texas. He was made principal of Sherman High School in 1937. Mr. Davis has always been willing to advise students and to help them solve their problems. His fondness for young people has made him want to know each student in our high school as a personal friend. This trait has en- deared him to each student. His fairness in dealing with pupils is recognized by everyone and his eagerness to please others has made him many friends.

SUPERINTEIXIDENT SPEEIQ Mr. Speer has been superintendent of the Sherman Pub- lic Schools since 1937. He was promoted to this office after having been principal of Sherman High School for 8 years. He came to Sherman 13 years ago from Eastland, Texas, Where he served as principal. Mr. Speer received his degree from N T S T C and his Master's degree from the University of Colorado. Mr. Speerls greatest love is working with the teachers and students. His staunch character and fairness to all are respected by everyone. We all look forward to his friend- ly talks in assembly and we welcome him at any time he can be with us. He has created in both students and fac- ulty the urge to put the Sherman Schools out in front in any kind of contest. v
