Andrew Swager (25) breaks a tackle while managing to stay in bounds. The Sheridan football team of 1983-84 consisted of six- teen boys who endured the long practices and the rough games. They were a very talented team with an overall record of 5-2. There were many outstanding players on the team this year. Senior Tony Tezak ended with an exceptional year with numerous touchdowns to his credit, jared Wright, Andrew Swager, Clint Mortenson, and Scott Wessel all contributed to the teams 33 touchdowns for a total of 255 points for the season. This season was full of unusual surprises for the team. During our game against Twin Bridges, quarterback lared Wright was hit hard early in the game and ended his season with a cast on his leg. The pressure was now on Andrew Swager, our back-up quarterback Some of the highlights for the season were the victory over our rival Twin Bridges, the victory over West Yellowstone, ending the season with a winning record, the end of the season prime rib dinner at The Hub, scar- ing the assistant coach after practices, and watching A Swager get killed. Freshman Fritz Bieler remembers the Clyde Park game the best because this happened to be the only game he played in! 23
