The frustration on Joan Bieler's face masks the feel- ings of all the Purplecats when they lost to the Ennis Mustangs at the District Tournament. It seemed that no matter how hard they fought the Mustangs still managed to stay ahead. That night they came back to defeat Lima and finish the season as winners. The girls under new coach Kerry Koenig, had a fan- tastic season. They were 11-5 for their entire season and 8-2 during conference play to place them second in the all-conference standings. To celebrate their winning record, the Purplecats went to dinner at the Black Angus in Butte on December 12. The girls enjoyed steak and various seafoods, along with several different drinks. They topped off the evening with Mudpie. 20
