The 1976 girl's basketball season proved to be quite successful for the Sheridan Purple Cats. The girls had an 11-3 season losing to Whitehall twice and Lima once. They traveled to district tournament at Western Montana College in Dillon November 18, 19, and 20. As second place winners, with Whitehall first, they once again journeyed to divisional tournament which was also held at WMC. At divisional tourney, the Purple Cats lost the first two games they played. These two losses put them out of the tournament. The season consisted of hard practices and some occasional water bottle fights but it was a fun season for the girls involved. 1. Dee Dee Graham puts one through the hoop show- ing good form. 2. Marlene Dutch Lovejoy towers for a rebound as teammates look on anxiously. 3. Cheryl Brown steals the ball and scores on an opponent's mistake. 4. Marilyn Edmisten cuts off her opponent for the rebound. 14
