This Is My Responsibility To be informed that I may understand The problems faced by those who would secure Good schools in every section of our land Where true democracy shall long endure. To listen with an open mind and heart To him whose group is in minority, And by an honest sharing to impart A common bond of real authority. To work for that which would improve my school To vote for change, not merely criticize, Knowing that education as a tool Can build foundations where world peace shall rise. To be sincere in all I do and say, To use the talents given unto me And thereby grow a little every day, This, then, is my responsibility. Mrs. Leslie Jackson, FHA adviser; previously taught in the Sheridan school system for eight and one half years, re- turning here from Great Falls in 1968; teaches home economics and biology; BS degree from Montana State University. 17

Faculty I Would Teach To this my chosen field, dear Lord, I'd bring An understanding heart, an open mind, A spirit interested in everything, A discipline that's always wise and kind. I would be patient, give me, Lord, I pray This talent over skills I might possess That I shall stop and think before I say Some hurtful thing whose power I cannot guess. I would bring out the best in those I teach By loving care and genuine concern, That growth of mind and heart in them shall reach Beyond all textbook lessons they must learn. 16
