Track “1971” Keith Edsall broke all school records in the hurdles. In this picture taken at the 1970 district track meet in Ennis, Keith is running first ahead of two strong competitors--Bob McClean of Willow Creek in second place and Twin Bridges' Keith Stone holding third place. Keith loved competition, and he never set his goal any lower than the best. The memory of his strong will to succeed was with our 1971 team as they advanced to state. His presence was felt by everyone. Divisional Champs The track team took first place at the district track meet, advanced to divisional competition, took top honors there, and was then qualified to compete at the state track meet. The team members at the right placed at district and went to divisional. Those placing at the divisional track meet, lower left, advanced to state. In the lower right photos, Joel Hunt is thinking hard about throwing the discus; and Dale Smail is taking his first flying lesson.

Earth Day Physics class speaks out On the twenty-second day of April, the students of SHS participated in the wide- spread celebration of Earth Day. In the morning, the high school and the eighth grade students crowded into the study hall, and they listened to Mr. Chisholm speak about the workings of the Forest Service around our area. Following him, seven physics students reported on several aspects of our environmental problem. The youth of today are speaking out on a subject that weighs heavy on everyone's mind. After lunch, the students worked hard cleaning up the streets and highways of our town. Earth Day was a success. Onward to better things. . Garbage??! ? 28 Women's Lib--Garbage Gals Mr. Chisholm
