SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On the first day of school, fifteen bright, eager faces came running up the steps to greet their first teacher, Mrs. Florence Stine. They were Jimmy Merrill, Mike Baril, Vicki Secore, Susan Tilton, Gary Simonsen, Dale Marsh, Randy Baril, Nat Todd, Pat Darby, Carl King, Steve Jones, Don Tolson, and Chuck Marsh. After having learned the essentials of reading and a few other odds and ends, we made it to the second grade where Mrs. Helen Tolson was our teacher. When it was time to enter the third grade, Miss Louise Steiner accepted us, although she had a class of fourth graders to cope with, too. Miss Steiner was our teacher again in the fourth grade, but this time we were the upperclassmen in our combined class of third and fourth graders. At last we journeyed to the fifth grade where Mr. Ray Macek had a combined class of fifth and sixth graders. In the first part of the sixth grade, our class was split between two teachers; Mr. Macek taught fifth and sixth graders and Mr. Jackson taught sixth and seventh graders. It was that year we gained a new teacher, Mrs. Isabelle Marsh, and our class was re- united. When seventh grade came around, Mr. Les Jackson was our teacher. We finally reached our last year of grade school; Mr. Charles Murray was there to teach us. This year we were joined by Bill Babcock, Carolyn Smail, Peggy Smail, and John Anderson from Alder. That year we took first place in the Amateur Show with The Bedbugs as our main act. Another mile- stone had been reached! Then at last we started our four glorious years of high school, with Mr. Kenneth Logan as our advisor. We lived through the big event of initiation and finally came up with a skit for the Amateur Show. We thought it was great but nobody seemed to appreciate it, and we didn't even place. That year our carnival royalty nominees were Carol Hunt and Chuck Marsh. Both freshmen received the highest honors. 14
