The year is now 1983 and the Sheridan Class of 1963 has met in Sheridan for their class reunion. The first member to arrive is Kay Mortensen. Kay is known the world over for her creative hair styles. She is trying to give her basset hound a poodle hair cut, and drive at the same time. It is only natural that this violation would bring on the appearance of a law officer of some sort. It so happens that the class's own highway patrolman, Lou Brown, is on his way to the reunion and happens by just in time to catch Kay. A loud roar of drums brings on our Peace Corp member Kelly Baril. Kelly and her husband are working in South Africa and Kelly has made the trip up here by safari especially for the opportunity to see her class members again. We hear a thunder of hoofs and look out the window just in time to see Kathy Green gallop into the building on a green camel. Kathy has started the first camel ranch in the state. These camels are especially valuable because they come in all colors. We notice a crowd outside the building and go out to see what the trouble is. It appears that Bill Sheehan and Ray Stolp have arrived in their new V-8 space shop. They have taken time to drop down from Mars to visit the members of their graduating class. The next member of the class to arrive is Jack Piippo. It's rather shocking to see Jack because he has large pine trees growing out of his head. It appears that Jack has become a forest ranger and while looking for the hair tonic got his new tree growing formula instead. Next comes Scott Allen the class of 63's Ben Casey. Scott has become a doctor and has made such an impression on the medical profession that he was taken out of it and is to star on a new medical show on television. A gold Cadillac approaches and slows to a stop. The ex-student body President, Dan Marsh, climbs out. Dan has become a very successful banker and changed his name to Danny Sol. Next appears a brown and white 1958 Ford. After finishing eight years of college in fashion co- ordinating, Karla Gilman married her high school sweetheart. They have eight children, two dalmation dogs, one bird, and a large mink ranch. Next comes the boy the class voted most likely to sack seed, Bill Galiger. Bill has a very successful wheat farm in the Ruby Valley. Bill is having a little trouble. He might own half the valley but he is still not a happy man. His nearest neighbor is giving him a quite extreme case of ulcers. Jerry Wel- boum owns the other half of the valley. Jerry has a large cattle ranch. Jerry and Bill are engaged in an old fashioned range war. But with Bill's thirteen daughters and Jerry's thirteen sons this war may end soon. Over in one corner of the room we see Louise Wessel, secretary to an espionage agent. She is madly taking down the entire conversation of the reunion in shorthand. We also see Alan Paige and Glenda Gum at our reunion. They seem to have gone for education in a big way. They jointly run a private co-educational college in Alder. As the reunion draws to a close we see that every member of the class has been successful. We hope to meet again in another twenty years which will bring us to the year 2003. 13

CLASS HISTORY In August of 1952, nine eager students ascend the stairways to Sheridan Grade school. These nine students are as follows: Gary Skinner, Kelly Baril, Kathy Green, Peter Janelli, Wilfred English, Dale • Talbott, Dan Marsh, Mary Robinson, and Fred Magee. The year 1960 brings about our eighth grade graduation with thirteen students securing their diplomas. As we enter high school, the class loses three members, and gains one, Jerry Welborn, bringing our membership to 11. Our class officers during the Freshman year are Dan Marsh, President; Alan Paige, vice president; Louise Wessel, student council rep.; Connie Fulford, secretary treasurer, and Karla Gil- man, reporter. The big event of the Freshman year is being properly initiated into high school. The candidates for carnival King and Queen are Alan Paige and Louise Wessel. Louise is crowned Queen. At the beginning of our sophomore year our class increases to 14 with the addition of Scott Allen, Louie Brown, and Ray Stolp. Leading our class this year are Alan Paige, president; Dan Marsh, vice president; Bill Galiger, student council representative and Karla Gilman sec.-treas. Kelly Baril and Dan Marsh are nominated as carnival King and Queen, both coming out victorious. The beginning of our junior year marks the importance of becomming upperclassmen. The class gains two new members, Glenda Gum and Bill Sheehan. Those leading our class are Kay Mortensen, president; Karla Gilman, vice-president; Connie Fulford, secretary treasurer; and Bill Sheehan, student council representative. Carnival King and Queen candidates are Lewis Brown and Glenda Gum. Our class chooses our class rings during our junior year. We sponsor the traditional junior prom in honor of the seniors. The theme of the Prom is Deep Purple with music supplied by the Vagabonds. The senior Queen, Judy Anderson, and Dan Marsh, followed by junior princess, Glenda Gum and Vern Doornbos lead the Grand March. Those leading the class during our final year are Lewis Brown, president; Ray Stolp, vice president; Kay Mortenson, secretary treasurer; and Bill Galiger, student council representative; Louise Wessel, re- porter. Our carnival candidates this year are Jerry Welborn and Karla Gilman. This year we lose Connie Fulford, and gain Jack Piippo, leaving our membership at 15. Memborable events of the year are going to Butte for senior pictures, selling ads in Butte and Dillon, and traveling to Helena to visit the legislature. The class chooses Royal Purple and Silver as class colors and Orchids as our class flower. Our motto is Each day we place another jewel in the invisible crown of life. For the first time in four years, our class places in the Amateur show with a second prize. The junior prom, held in our honor is held on May 4th. The Grand March is led by Glenda Gum, Senior Queen, and Ray Shaw, followed by Junior Princess Bonnie Weber and Louie Brown. Final activities of the year are the junior senior Banquet held on May 16, and award night with many seniors receiving awards. Baccalaureate services are held on the 26th of May with Rev. Leigh Wallace delivering the address. Finally the big day arrives and on May 27th, 14 happy seniors receive their diplomas, with Professor Kutzman, of Bozeman delivering the commencement address. Those graduating are Kay Mortenson, Karla Gilman, Kelly Baril, Kathy Green, Louise Wessel, Glenda Gum, Scott Allen, Bill Galiger, Jack Piippo, Dan Marsh, Ray Stolp and Lewis Brown. Bill Sheehan is valedictorian of our class and A1 Paige and Karla Gilman are co-salutatorions. This brings us to the end of twelve wonderful years of work and fun at Sheridan High School. 12
