Act I: The scene is the first grade room of Sheridan High School. Time: September 1940. The curtain opens and the actors on the stage are: Brian Walter, Doris Shaffer, Ann Bieler, Margery Brim, Keith Burnett, Betty Hakes, Shirley Baker, Doris Jackson, Sharon Balogh, Nancy Hatfield, Pat Burlingame, Patsy Shafer, Donna Talbot, Betty Hill, Jim Hickam, Jimmie Stout, Cora Robinson, and Gordon Roberts. They are eagerly looking forward to their new roles as students under the direction of Miss Dimach. The curtain falls on Scene I. Scene II: Eight years later in the Sher- idan High School gym. We see Mr. Murray handing out diplomas to a new and somewhat smaller group. They are Brian Walter, Shirley Baker, Doris Shaffer, Pat Brunner, Ann Bieler, Meryl Pilkington, Bernie Haggard, Lonnie Durham, Thornton Newlove, Betty Gali- ger, Howard Simonsen, John Allhands, Frank Claypool, Margery Brim, Doris Jackson, and Keith Burnett. We see that many new characters have been added to the cast and they are looking forward eagerly to their years in high school. Act II: The Scene is the Halls of Sher- idan High School. As freshman we elected officers as follows: president, Lonnie Durham; vice president, Thornton Newlove; representative, John Allhands; secre- tary and treasurer, Doris Jackson. We were initiated in the traditional manner by the sophomores and were now started in another new role. To show our appreciation for the fine welcome we received into high school we gave the Freshmen Return Party in honor of the sophomores. The big highlight of the year was when we took second place in the annual F.F.A. -- F.H.A. Amateur Contest. This year we gained Nina Miller, Ken Long, Fay Long, Nora Miller, Betty Garrison, and Rosemary Kitson; and lost Bernie Haggard, Glen Woodward, and Howard Simonsen. Act III. To begin our sophomore year we took out our revenge on the innocent fresh- men. Our officers for the years were: presi- dent, Brian Walter; vice president, Keith Burnett; secretary and treasurer, Ann Bieler; and representative, Pat Brunner. This year we dropped to third place in the amateur contest. New characters in this act were: David Sanks and LaRoyce Rose, and those lost were Thornton Newlove, Betty Galiger, Nora Miller, Meryl Pilkington, and Rosemary Kitson. Act IV: Our junior year was one of our most active years. Our officers were: presi- dent, Brian Walter; vice president, Pat Brunner; secretary, Doris Jackson; representative, Ken Long. Keith Bur- nett was elected vice president of the Student Council. This year was highlighted by our Junior Prom which was given in honor of the seniors. Orchids in the Moonlight was the theme, and Doris Jackson was chosen Junior Princess. Also in their junior year Brian Walter, Keith Burnett, and John Allhands attended the National F.F.A. Convention at Kansas City, Mo. Delegates to Boys' State and Girls' State were: Brian Walter, Keith Bur- nett, Ken Long, and Doris Jackson. 9 We recovered this year and took second in the Amateur Contest. We all enjoyed the Junior-Senior Banquet which was given by our mothers in honor of the Class of '51. The junior skiing party and class picnic were also big succes- ses. The only member lost from the cast this year was LaRoyce Rose. Act V: With high hopes for the future we en- tered the final act of our play as sen- iors. The main characters were: president, Keith Burnett; vice president. Fay Long; secretary, Margery Brim; rep- resentative, Ken Long. This year Fay Long was elected president of the Stu- dent Council; Keith Burnett, vice presi- dent; and Doris Jackson, secretary. We cast Nina Miller as editor of our annual, the Trailblazer. This year we finally made it and took first place in the Amateur Contest. The Class of '52 presented the speech class comedy, Head First , under the supervision of Mrs. Kitt. One of the outstanding scenes in our last year was our senior trip which replaced the Sneak Days of former years. The whole class ap- peared on the set which was in Salt Lake City, Utah. Again this year we were guests at the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. Our high hopes were somewhat dimmed as we were nearing the end of our stage career. The final curtain was brought down with Baccalaureate and Commencement which took place on May 25 and 28. It was at Commencement that the class took their final bow to their friends, the faculty, and to the halls of Sheridan High and the curtain closed.
