RIGHT 1 The school constructed in 1846 on E. 6th (where the Sheridan Community now stands.) 2 First Ward erected in 1895. 3 In 1912. an addition was made to the First Ward for the high school. This building is now the present elementary school. 5

Y OU CAN COUNT ON US Sheridan is not a booming me- tropolis. but it is a close knit town filled with a rich tradition. Families carry on the businesses which have been there for years. Compared to the 1860’s however, many changes have been made. Here is a list of some of the busi- nesses which existed during the 1860’s: General merchandise, This- lethwaite Bros., H.J. Thisleth- waite, Hamilton Emmons; drugs, P.B. Stout, David Foight; clocks. P.G. Pearson; physicians. Dr. H.E. Davenport, Dr. J.W. Fancher, Dr. H. Mooreh; shoemaker, J.Y. Green: milliners, Mrs. W. Clemans, Mrs. M. Emmons: undertakers, Mace Sackman; saddle and harness mak- er, Julius Pearson: wagon-makers, blacksmiths and painters, Wains- cott, Mann Cropper. The present downtown area. Quarterback Doug Rogers throws a pass dur ing the homecoming game against Zionsville. A joyous moment for King. Kent Wright, and Queen Kristi Robertson, during half time of the homecoming game. Frannie Woodcock supports the team by cheering during the homecoming game. Seniors Benny Biddle and Timo Saarto are two of our finest cross country runners. Brenda Brennan keeps the rhythm with the band during the half time performance. Several seniors show their spirit by dressing up on twins day. 6
