It takes a lot of hard work and determination to be a wrestler; this year’s Hawks had a lot of both. This hard work paid off at conference time as Todd Scott, Mark Law and John Harbaugh all came away victorious. John and Todd also came away with coveted sec- tional championships. Rusty Drayer Senior Forward Brian Millikan Senior Guard Scott Garriott Senior Guard 52 First year coach Ron Blotch and his Sheridan Blackhawks struggled through the first part of the 1981-82 basketball season but came on strong the last half. The Blackhawks finished the season at 7-16. The highlight of the year was the sectional. The Hawks weren’t even picked to challenge, but in the first game they shocked Westfield in O.T. 74-72. They then took on the Carmel Greyhounds and came from 20 point back to 57-55. In the championship game the Hawks just didn’t have enough left as they fell to the Millers 68- 54 to finish runner-ups. Whaley, Wright and Drayer were named to the All-sectional team. With three starters returning, look for the Hawks to be tough in '83.
