HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES G o n 8 S h o w Mr. Coppess was the M.C. of the gong show. Micah Marsh was crowned King during the gong show. As the day approached for the Basketball Homecoming, everyone was excited. A gong show was planned for the afternoon, in which anyone could participate. With the help of the judges, Barb Rodgers and Rollo Greer, many acts were gonged. The winning act was the mysterious 1 'ladies'' from who knows where. The team played Eastern in an exciting, close game, however, the Hawks were defeated. The best act of the show! These '' LADIES'' were imported from all parts of the country. Well, lift your hands up to the sky! The Hawkettes did a routine to 'Greased Lightning''. The ' 'Reliefs'' sang a number, but the audience was sure relieved when they were through. 15

' 'Let's Boogie'', says Yvonne. We danced and listened to the Super Trooper Band Everyone's just doing their own thing ! This year was a really good year for the football homecoming. Jeffra Jett was selected Queen and Kevin Alexander was voted King. The other Queen candidates were Renea Rohrer and Sheryl VanMeter. Junior Princess was Lisa Foxworthy; Soph. Princess — Jody Rawlings, frosh. Princess — Joetta Burton. This year the Seniors won first place on their float and also won first place in the spirit contest. The freshman won second place on float. The Hawks had a big game with Clenton Central, Hawks won 36-0. To end the night a sock-hop was held with Super Trooper as the stars. 17
