They started out by selling Cokes and candy at lunch time. Still early in the year, they sold magazines and that surely did make a great profit for our class. Everyone was eager to work and make money for the class, especially since there were great prizes to work for. When football homecoming came, the Juniors ended up with second place on the float and the spirit award. They also proved the power of the class by winning both girls' and boys' tug-of-war. These battles were against all the other high school classes. All in all, the Juniors had a terrific year. As editor of the 1978 syllabus, I would like to thank the staff for its hard work and dedication. I would especially like to thank Mrs. Virginia Reed, our advisor, for her guidance and supervision. Two people that deserve much appreciation are Mr. Bill Cripe, our professional photographer, and Mr. Dick Maurer, our representative from Josten's American Yearbook Company. Finally, Mrs. Reed, the staff and I would like to extend our appreciation to the many patrons that contributed to the yearbook. I hope that you enjoy this book and in the years to come I'm sure it will bring pleasant memories of yesterday, today and for all of your tomorrows. Dennis Owen, editor 120 n -
