Th is year the class of '74' combined Baccalaureate and Commencement all in the same day. Baccalaureate was held Sunday afternoon May l9. Instead of having a guest speaker, class president, Neil John- son gave a refreshing speech. Com- mencement started the same day at 8:00 that evening. Garry Boyer gave the Salutatory oration at the begin- ning of the ceremony. David Pitts followed with the Valedictory state- ment. Principal Mr. Byron E. Stout read the names on the diplomas and also the awards and schools they were going to this fall. Our new Superintendent, Mr. Leslie D. Pence, presented the Seniors with their diplomas. Then finally the Seniors heard the words they had waited so long for, by the powers granted to me by the State of Indiana . . . . Good luck to all members of the Class of 1974. f-J-M ,x .vs ,,. The pressures of an average day at MAHS almost always fall upon the shoulders ofthe admin- istration during this and every year. This year proved no exception but there were many changes in the staff. Moving up to become the Vice Principal was Beryl Kouns Also aiding Mr. Stout as Principal were Mr.Youmans and Mrs. Stahl as the guidance counselors. The students of MAHS welcomed a new superintendent at mid-year when Mr. Bloom resigned and was replaced by Mr. Leslie Pence. These people help to make MAHS the school it is today. l.
