Page Twenty-three Although we can no longer see lean Ann Lambert, touch her hand, or laugh with her, in our memory she remains. We, the Class of 1959, feel that the following poem by Iames Whitcomb Riley best expresses our feeling for Iean Ann, our friend and fellow classmate, who passed away December 13, 1957. I cannot say, and I will not say That she is dead - she is just away I With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand, She has wandered into an unknown land, And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since she lingers there. And you - O you, who the wildest yearn For the old time step and glad return, Think or her faring on, as dear I n the love of There as the love of H ereg Think of her still as the same, I say, She is not dead - she is just away l Page Twenty-four Juniors Bottom Row IL to Rl Charles Walker, David Lutz, Carolyn Forbush, Ioan Robbins, Chris Vose, Darlene Griffith, Iudy Moreland, Nancy Cole, Ann Groves, Beth Law, lane Childers, Ioy Barricks, Barbara Pritsch, Mr. Stout. Van Sickle- Gur Director Mr. Van Sickle has been the band director at Sheridan for seven years. He has improved our orchestra very much. This year's orchestra is a young one and each of the members are willing to work hard to improve it. E Page Forty-two l I 1 lhe llrchestra The high school orchestra is com- posed of about 20 players who want to increase their knowledge in music. The orchestra starts the season by playing at the Senior Play. They also can be seen playing at the Honor Society, County Festival, District Music Contest, Iunior Play and completing the year by playing at the Baccalaureate. The whole school should be proud of the orchestra, though small, it is the only one in the county. This is a chance for the grade students to play musical instru- ments as a group. The band is small in membership but good in quality of tone. Junior Class Pla On March 31, 1958, the Iunior Class presented the play I'm A Family Crisis , a comedy in three acts. A chatterbox, named Peggy, finds only trouble. When she vows not to speak for 2 days in order to join a school club, she is almost taken to a sanitarium. CHARACTERS Peggy Morgan ...................... ludy WGllW0rk Betsey .......... M Is.
