Homecoming 1979 began with a pep rally held by the cheer- leaders. The pep rally activities included a chicken barbecue held by the FFA, a bonfire, many cheers, and the presen- tation of the queen and her court. Players, coaches, and students were psyched by the rally and the mood was set for the game. The game itself proved to be a disaster. To begin with, rain fell most of the day and well into the game, making the fans and teams miserable. This feeling showed as the Generals fell to the Ceramics with a 31-0 score
