The English Department was nor as uninreresring as one mighr think. Some important changes occurred that centered around the reorganization of classes with more emphasis on changes for college-bound students. College preparatory classes available to students were,- Expository Writing, Logic, General Semantics, English Literature, and Grammar. Most English teachers were able to reach the classes of their preference. This contributed to the student teacher relationship. Some of the various teachers were involved in such things as: Golf, Class Sponsors, Drama, Magazine, and the OCK. TAKE 22

If rhis doss was token, consumer morh was raken ofrer rhor ro moke ir complete. If you really liked morh you could work up ro Trigonomerry or Analytical Geomerry. Formulas, phylums, and physics are studied in rhe Science Deparrmenr. The mosr basic class was General Sd-ence. You could work yourself up ro physics, rhis class was one of rhe mosr difficult. S.H.S. had some of rhe best science dosses available. TAKE 24
