Mr. Halleen Is New Principal At SHS Mr. Owen P. Halleen joined the District No. 7 staff of Administrators as Sheridan High School's new Principal. He received his B.S. Degree from Wheaton College in Illinois, and his Masters Degree from the University of Illinois. Before coming to Sheridan, he served as an Administrative Intern for one year at Abraham Lincoln High School in Bloomington, Minnesota. Mr. Halleen brought many new and exciting ideas to Sheridan High. Being genuinely interested in the student body and their opinions, he placed several students on administrative committees. Mr. Halleen also made it a point to get all students involved in the school and its various activities. TOP: Mr. Owen P. Halleen tackles the paperwork of the Principal's Office. SHS Adds New Assistant Principal Mr. Charles Popovich, Assistant Principal, received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Montana State University. After serving three years in the U.S. Navy, he came to Sheridan in 1950 and began teaching at Sheridan High School. Besides his Assistant Principal duties Mr. Popovich teaches an Algebra II class and is the Honor Society sponsor. Mr. Richard Hall received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Black Hills State College and his Masters Degree from the University of Wyoming. He has been the Principal of Taylor Elementary School for the past twenty years. As a new Assistant Principal at SHS, Mr. Hall's duties include such things as Activities Director, maintaining the master activities calendar, supervision of the school plant, and room utilization and scheduling. 15
