English Below (left) is Miss Waisner who teaches English II and IV, and on the right is Mr. Kern Brown, who teaches English III and Public Speaking. All students of Sheridan High are required to take at least three years of English to graduate. If a student wishes to take English a fourth year, he has the choice of a regular English course, or a college prep course. In all English classes one semester is devoted to the study of grammar and the second semester is devoted to literature, which includes many of Shakespeare’s works. In addition, most students are required to do research, write essays, give oral reports, and write a book report every six weeks. Below from left to right are: Mr. Johnson who teaches English I and II, and Journalism; Mr. Wood who has classes in English III and IV; Mrs. Sprague who instructs English II and III; and Miss Lyon who teaches English I and II.
