Last year saw a drastic change in the governing body of Sheridan High. The Student Council, usually composed of a representative from each home room. was made up of class representatives. Each class except the freshmen took out petitions the spring before and then elected their quota of memhersfsix seniors, six juniors, and four sophomores. The freshmen sent two representatives the second semester. Wheli school opened in the fall, the Student Council was ready to go! They hegan the year by participating in the Freshman Orientation. Together with members of the Honor Society several council members gave welcoming speeches informing the incoming freshmen about S.H.S. and its activities. The tree which decorated the lower hall during the Christ- mas season was purchased by this organiza- tion. Under the leadership of Miss John- son the body governed the school in an able manner throughout the year. Serving as a link between the students and the faculty, the group was one of both govern- ment and leadership.
