Ttfron TReat t6e ‘PCtut I Superintendent, KARL D. BELL To the Students of Sheridan High School One of the major problems facing young people today arises from the fact that knowledge has multiplied far faster than we have increased our ability to absorb it. A true education is more than intellectual taxidermy, a scooping out of the mind and the stuffing in of facts. The human mind is not a deep-freeze for storage, but a forge for production; it must be supplied with fuel, fired and properly shaped. Young people of today must have a sure grasp of their intellectual heritage. You were not born as orphans in an intellectual wilderness, bereft of all ancestors. You have inherited a tremendous legacy from the past. There is a wonderful treasure of thought, knowledge and understanding that has been accumulated for you over the centuries. It is our hope that we have opened the doors of this heritage to you at Sheridan High School. Whether you enter or not, or what you gain depends upon your own efforts. SCHOOL BOARD R. B. Kelso W. E. 'Zfottte tde Vianet The newest and most popular building on our campus is the home of the BRONCS. It houses the many trophies our BRONCS have worked for and earned through their sportsmanship and ability. The physical education classes are in session here every day of the week and several dances are held during the year for the students and faculty. We are all proud of our gymnasium and enjoy using it. Woodworking, Vocational Agriculture, Mechanical Drawing, and Metal Shop are among the courses of Industrial Arts held in this building. The building is equipped with modern devices sufficient for training the boys to meet the present demands of America. HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM MR. CARL P. '$olccie4 S6 UcC z t Sc ooC Your one main purpose for attending Sheridan High School has been to acquire certain facts and quantities of information. To be able to gather facts and see clearly their relation to each other—to be able to establish relations of cause and effect by proof: these are the first and rarest fruits of education, and the surest evidence of straight thinking. Week after week, year after year, the person whose sympathies are broad and whose opinions are based on a ground-work of dependable information, will carry quite handsomely the burden of good citizenship. It is our sincerest wish that each one of you who have been a vital part of this school, community and nation carry far and wisely the principles of good citizenship and straight thinking to which you have been exposed here at Sheridan High School.
