When Mike came back he said to his employer: “That’s a curious custom the Hebrews have of putting a $20 gold piece in the right hand of the corpse. ” Ilis employer smiled and said: “You are right, Mike, that is to pay his way across the river Jordan.” “If that’s the case,” said Mike, “that Hebrew will have to swim, because I swiped the $20.”
