LEFT: STEPHEN HENSLEY Kansas State University B.S. 1964 RIGHT: DON GRIFFIN Arkansas State Teachers College B.S. 1961 MYSTERIES OF THE WORLD UNFOLD BEFORE SCIENCE CLASSES The science teachers this year were Mr. Griffin and Mr. Hensley. Mr. Griffin taught chemistry, physics, basic science, and senior math. The chemistry classes consist of lab work and different experiments. The physics class makes a study of matter and energy, exploring heat and radiation. Mr. Hensley taught zoology, biology, and basic math. The biology students study the animal and plant life. To get to know more, some lab work involved dissecting small animals. Zoology, a more advanced course, concen- trates on animal life. RIGHT: Mr. Hensley's zoology class puts the microscope to use. Here Mr. Magnuson is busy giving Brenda Pfeifer a horn lesson. MUSIC ENRICHES THE LIVES OF STUDENTS This year the music department was staffed by Mr. Magnuson and Mr. McDonnel. Mr. Magnuson taught band and gave music lessons. He also organized a group of skilled musicians, called the Red Barons who played for several occa- sions. Mr. McDonnel taught girls glee, boys glee, and mixed chorus along with giving private vocal lessons to the stu- dents who wanted them. The music department gave two concerts this year. A winter and spring concert. They also went to the music contest in Oakley. To end the year the mixed chorus sang for graduation. Mr. McDonnel is giving a voice lesson to Lenny Patmon during his study hall period.
