Each student chooses and designs his own home. In doing this, the student learns and uses: floor plans, roof plans, plot plans, wall sections, front, rear, right, and left elevations, kitchen build-ins, specification sheets, wiring plans, and door and paint schedules. This year's class took field trips to see homes in construction. The students in Woodworking I were required to do a project using all hand tools. Later, each student learns to use machines. Coffee tables, gun racks, lamps, and end tables are some of the most com- mon pieces made. The second year Woodworking class learn safety on machines.
