Student (Council 1903-1953 THE MAIN TOPIC of conversation in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in the fall of 1903 was two bicycle mechanics named Wright. The brothers Orville and Wilbur, were working on a flying machine . December 17, Orville piloted their plane fourty yards in twelve seconds. The Air Age had begun. One of the main topics of conversation in Hoxie, Kansas, that fall of 1903 was the new high school. The first term was began Monday, September 14, 1903, with the enrollment of twenty-one, and R. G. Mueller as principal and only instructor. An important step in the development of the human resorces of Sheridan County was thus taken.
