SHEPTO WELCCJMES EWCGMERS WITH CPEN ARMS Every year, new students enroll at Shepton. They are usually dressed in their best clothes, with their best smiles, hoping to make a good impres- sion on their new classmates. Believe me, I know, and it has worked out pret- ty well with the occasional bumpy parts. All in all, I and many others have been rewarded with many good friends and aquaintances. The Newcomer's Club is one way that new students be- gin their time at Shepton. This club is specifically for the new students and is sponsored by Mrs. lana Mussett and Mrs. Pam Wakefield. Some of the club's activities are movie parties and break- fasts. The new students really appreci- ate the group's efforts on making them feel welcome here. So the next time you see a person in what looks like the best that they've possibly got, with a wide and open smile on their face, walk up to them, smile, tell them what your name is, and walk them to their next new class. I mean, afterall, you never know when you're going to be that new person walking through strange halls with strange and new looking faces.
