Space travelers took advantage of the pleasant weather by taking hikes, enjoying the view, passing frisbees, and playing other intergalactic games. On Sunday, the lunar adventure came to an end and all space travelers headed home. You can be sure, though, that each marked the 1978 Dark Side adventure in his space log as a truly unforgettable experience. Q . K , 'bn F, bl, .l 'HIV L xr- ' ' 1 ,v':I' i. QSIDE OF THE moon X pm. 5 With all safety belts fastened, all gear stowed away in spaceship compartments and all expectations zeroed in on a wild, wildemess weekend, approximately 250 space travelers blasted off from home base bound for the Fourth Annual Dark Side of the Moon, sponsored by the Inter-Dormitory Council of Shepherd College. The joumey began Friday, September 22, with all space travelers setting their space scopes for George Washington National Forest near Harrisonburg, Xhrginia. Upon arrival, the extraterrestrial voyagers set up headquarters and began enjoy- ing the full effect of being lost in space. Mission control center was set up at the top of the 4400 foot mountain appropriately 10 Darkside g lf .hw 1 ,R i E fi f-H1-. 5 N 'Ulr- is 2 'X-is -mn tagged Gateway to the Universe. During the joumey, out-of-this-world sounds were provided by New Liberty on Friday night, by Shooz on Saturday af- ternoon and by Euphoria Saturday evening. The space travelers also occupied their time by tuning into midnight movies and special reel-to-reel recorded sounds provided by IDC. U ci gi 1 n 1. I i l i lr 'I l i l

I-IDMECOMI Homecoming 1978 would have made Walt Disney proud. The activities included just about everything from Snow White and the DZ dwarfs to a halftime show provided by the Marching Rams featuring a medley of Disney tunes. The entire weekend actually began on Tuesday, October 3, with a disco in the Den, and continued through Funny Lady, a Pitcher Bash spon- sored by the Homecoming Committee and SGA, a Car Rally and informal dance, to finally end up on the day we'd all been waiting for SATURDAY! The Parade began at 10am sharp, and included a wide variety of floats. The booths in the Midway offered quite a few things to see, do, and eat. The Football Game against arch rival Concord proved to be a heart-breaking 18-15 loss in the last seconds of the game, ending the Ram's perfect winning record so far in the season.
