Each year President and Mrs. Oliver S. lkenberry formally greet all incoming freshmen and new stu- dents at the President's estate, Popodicon. The new students are also presented to the chairmen of the college's eight academic divisions and other faculty members. This reception gives the students a chance to meet their advisors and professors outside of the classroom and to learn to know them better. The friendliness among Shepherd's students, faculty mem- bers, and administrators has become a tradition that is impressed upon all new students on their arrival to the campus.
