In spite of a crowded cal- endar, Dr. lkenherry finds time for his fam- ily, his students, his faculty and administrative staff, and for performing such an ofiicial duty as meeting distinguished guests. He main- tains an open door policy to students and faculty-at his home where he and Mrs. Ikenberry often entertain. and at the office where his front door is always open-and. much to the chagrin of his secretary, so is the back door!! Dr. Ikenberry's continued service and in- terest in Shepherd College-its academic, so- cial and cultural life--have brought Shep- herd in a ten-year period to its greatest sta- ture. Snow Bowl Game Each year, at the time of the first snowfall a special event occurs on campus-the annual traditional Snow Bowl Football Game. This event is unique in that it is never planned and just any old snowfall won't do. It has to be the very first serious one. An early flurry w0n't do-nor will a later snow- fall no matter how deep. The guys sniff the air and if it's right everyone heads toward the game. The num- ber of men on each team makes no differ- enceg it's .fieult to tell one team from an- other in ts - blinding snow, anyway. Uuce again the busy month of September was here with many things waiting to be done. There was the usual whirl of receptions.. parties, and of course, our Mardi Gras Rush party. As a result we added to our list some excellent pledges. At our Homecoming Coffee hour many of alumnae as well as our collegiate members met together and had a very enjoyable social hour. Our white Elephant and bake sale in December was a huge success. Some of the highlights of the second semester were the annual Sweetheart Dance, February 1-lg the annual Greek Rush party: slumber party: and the initiation banquet for the pledges.
