Here are the pictures, articles and ideas which all took form in ink since April. When I took charge ot this horse in mid-stream, very little had been done to spur it on its way funder- statementl so it the whole book has a hurried atmosphere about it fthat is, it it's sloppyl please excuse it. This isn't the worst yearbook Shepherd has ever printed and it certainly doesn't pretend to be above average, but it does threaten to break the short order annual record. Without copy, without pictures, without ads, without paper, we faced the setting sun, but somehow, here's your annual. Regards, Fred Buzzerd, Editor Assistants: Sallye Morgan, Barry Ott. Advisors: Dr. Louise Johnson, Mr. Ralph B. Church. Individual photographer: Kelley's ot Hagerstown. SHEPHFRD QQ: I PGP 1 1956-157 ,......, DEDICATIQN We proudly dedicate this book to our friend and teacher Mr. William R. Thacher, professor of Economics and Geography. Third row: Trainer Omps, Comer, Artz, Davey, Bradeall, Schiavone, Kiiula, Hott, Sinnette, Taylor, Rudd, Lineburg, manager Glaize. Completing a successful first season as head coach, Jesse Riggleman mentored his Rams to a 6-2 record, winning the last five consecutive games. The two defeats were both by close margins, one being deter- mined by a safety on a muddy field and the other being a matter of the victor scoring quickly and then playing three quarters of defensive ball. The victories were all games which were never in doubt except for the thrilling Potomac State Game. The Rams' running game was effective all season and, as usual, hard line play was a great factor. Leading scor- ers for SC were Bunny Leonard with six touchdowns, Barry Hall with five. Tackle Meredith Boyd represented SC on the WVIAC first team.
