HONORABLE HARRY LAIVIBRIGHT SNYDER S HAS been the custom heretofore, we desire to dedicate this, the third volume of The Colzofzgmooia, - to some prominent citizen of the State who has been a benefactor of Shepherd College. This year we have chosen for this honor a man not only identified with all the best interests of Shep- herdstown and the Eastern Panhandle, but who has been a special friend of this Institution. This gentleman is Honorable Harry Lambright Snyder, editor of the Shepherdstown Register, whose genial smile and pleasing manner have placed him high in the esteem of the students of this Normal School. Mr. Snyder is recognized all over VVest Virginia as issuing one of the best local newspapers published, and both by tongue and pen he has identified himself with every forward movement which tends to promote the welfare of the people. The columns of his paper have always been open to the needs and the interests of Shepherd College, and both students and Faculty are under obligations to him for many eourtesies. For a number of years Mr. Snyder served as a member of the local Executive Committee of the School and for six years he was one of the Board of Regents. It was during this service that our line new building was erected, and he had no small part in choosing the plans and in supervising its erection, thus indicating his material interest in the welfare of the school. It is therefore with no slight degree of pleasure that we dedicate this issue of Tin' Colmzzgorooia to Mr. Snyder, and we here express the hope that a goodly number of years of usefulness and happiness may be allotted to him.
