The purpose of this club was to promote interest in chess within the school and to teach good sportsmanship. The club travelled to other schools in this area and in all contests they played well enough to give promise of a fair future. These musicians played at school functions and at a concert given in early June. Their musical contributions at the Yorker Jamboree were appreciated by all of the students and teachers who attended. Qtcftealiza Miss Kunz directed this group which provided music for assemblies, plays, and concerts. The group succeeded in achieving a happy blend of fine musical instru- mental presentation. They appeared in I concerts and at assemblies.
