This year proved to be somewhat dif- ferent because there was a large and enthusias- tic turn out for the girls, soccer team. A schedule of games with Niskayuna, Ballston Spa, Burnt Hills and Saratoga was arranged. We defeated Saratoga and lost to the other three schools. The team hoped to have other games on the November playday, but the schedule was can- celled because of poor weather. Because of the progress that had been made by the time the season ended, and because of the enthusiasm and skill shown, it would appear that next years, team will be a good one. 64 Interest in the intramural program for Girls Physical Education has greatly increased during the past few years. Additional Playdays, widely divergent schedules of contests with many dif- ferent schools and new and fresher approaches to the usual routine of daily physical educa- tion classes are all the accomplishments of our director, Miss Lorraine Hubbard. Miss Hubbard taught at several schools be- fore coming to us in 1955 when we were eighth graders. The members of this class saw her improvements 5 appreciated her efforts and thanked her for the many happy hours spent in athletics. She made pleasure of what might easily have been pain. l ,.,,.' l. .1 - 1 1 .. ,.-,, fn .MM Row I Sandra Ruddy Row 2 Donna Lawrence, Susan Harple Row 3 Sally Luse, Janice Palm, Sharon Dupont Row 4 Janice Jones, Betty Habesh, Pamila Harris, Susan Oakes

The girls that go from our school do not play as one team but play on color teams. The teams consist of girls from Draper, Scotia, Saratoga, Burnt Hills. and Ballston Spa. The purpose of this set up is for the girls to get acquainted with girls from other schools and learn to he friendly and to be good sports about it. Shirley Luse is coming smiling-through. The opposition, Nancy Peck and Pat DeVoe are hav- ing as much fun losing as Shirley has scoring. 4 gmlefgaff Kathy Taylor, Dorothy Primeau, Charlotte Sackett, Karen Nielsen, Andra Gorham, Kathleen VVilson, Jacqueline Ells- worth E A 1 1 A On January l6 nearly 200 girls from Draper, Saratoga, Burnt Hills, Ballston Spa, Niskayuna and Scotia came to our gym for basketball games. Our girls worked hard to win, but the other teams were a bit too strong. Sandy Carlo's team, however, won two match games from Burnt Hills and Ballston Spa, thus saving some glory for our teams. Miss Hubbard, advisor to Girls' Leaders which sponsored the playday, felt that all the hard work done by our girls culminated in a highly successful day.
