Foreword We, the class of '58, have lived in a period of expansion, an expansion that has been very intimate to us. When we entered high school four years ago, we found our school adequate, but in these four years, the enrollment has so increased that it has become necessary to ex- pand. To accommodate the increased number of students, a new wing has been added this year to relieve the crowded conditions which re- sulted in classes being held in the basement and other incongruous areas of the building. We, as students, have expanded our knowledge and our understanding of each other and the things about us. We have come a long way from a collection of flippant individuals to a coordinated group who respects others and accepts responsibility. The purpose of expan- sion is to give the student every opportunity to develop his intellect and discover his purpose in life. The teacher, the link between the in- quiring mind of a student and the textbook, guides youth so that every talent can be more fully developed. In our four years at Shenendehowa, we have expanded our class activities from one dance to several dances, a prom, a ball, a ban- quet, the publishing of a yearbook, and the selling of various items to fill our treasury. Thus we, the class of '58, have expanded from the halls of Shenendehowa into the diverse fields that the world offers us today as gradu- ates.
