Wtll do Cathy ftrst female member of the polrce underwater squad headed her sub for the yacht Her sub rnvented by the famous Donald Carlson was one of several submarme cars developed for underwater travel I traveled about 200 knots an hour Seconds later Cathy drew up besrde the yacht She recogmzed rt as the old S Untted States whrch C James Bamdt the world s ftrst Zrllronarre had converted mto hrs own personal yacht Cathy clrmbed aboard and started the questromng Apparently Barndt was mrssmg from hrs penthouse aboard the yacht He was last seen the nrght before rn the yacht s nrght club He had appeared rather agrtated and every one knew somethmg was wrong when he announced he was gomg to rettre durmg the mtddle of the chorus g1rls dance It so greatly surprised the dancers Bea Fortm Ann Knorowskr Maxme Felthousen Sandra Warner Natalte Parazrn skr and Eleanor Smlth fshe fxnally fulfrlled her ambrtron to grow to be stx feet tallj that they all ktcked together! Alvma Knorowskr 11m s prrvate doctor and Mona Gregoire head of the shrp s mfumary rushed rtght over but he had rnsrsted he was perfectly all nght No one had seen hxm agam The next mormng when Jxm Krlmer hrs valet went to wake hrm he entered Barndt s 50 by 50 foot bedroom and discovered the bed had not been slept 111 He sounded a general alarm and started a general rnqurry but Barndt was nowhere to be found He then summoned the pollce The only other mformatxon Cathy was able to gam was that Shelda Werner the shrp s cook ishe d recelved plenty of practrce workmg at an army camp whrle Drck Roerlg was rn servrcej had heard a splash around 6 A M but had thought nothrng of rt All the evrdence seemed to rndrcate that Red as everyone used to call hrm had drowned but now e questxon was whether rt was an acc1dent su1c1de or murder!
