Class Colors: Red, white, and blue Class flower: White rose Class Officers: Lynn Ann Christie, Secretary-Treasurer Our Exchange Student To the class of 71, teachers and friends: During the time that I have been here, I have ob- served many changes. The leaves abandoned the trees making them look like sad reflections of a time that is gone. Then the snow came covering everything white with that magic power that erases everything that is black or red or green. Suddenly things are white, pure and innocent As things changed, 1 changed too; 1 now have a new hope. My desire is that some day human beings will find a power like that of the snow. A power that will erase the differences between the human groups. One that will erase the war that converts men into mechanical toys that kill and hate I hope that some day young people will find the right way to know themselves for the benefit of all mankind. Some day I hope that the countries of the world will find common goals and that no ideology will exist which can seperate the people of the earth. Thanks a-lot. Both the girls’ and the boys' teams compete against schools of all sizes because WPIAL does not seperate schools by size. This year our teams met teams from larger schools such as Butler. Ambridge, and Rochester, and only one local school our size. Union. The senior girls on the team are Karin Danish, Karen Bowersox, and Donna Shaffer. All of them competed in every meet and were consistent performers. The boys’ team this year finished with a record of two wins and six losses. The team lost senior Gars Perdue half-was through the season when he suffered a broken ankle. Senior Ed Shoaff broke his foot mid-way through the season but was able to compete. The other senior members of the boys’ team are Junior Real, Steve Huff and Mike Marino. The girls compete in four es cuts, floor -exercise, balance beam, un- even parallel tsars, and aultuig The boys’ events are rings, sale horse, high bar, parallel bars, floor exercises, and v aultuig When asked about the team. Thank you. TYPISTS To the eight senior girls, we extend our gratitude for their competent work and faith- fulness. PHOTOGRAPHERS Neither rain, dirt, nor high places kept Mr. Joseph Kwolek of Kwolek Studios, Mr. George Milnes and Mr. Thad Bukowski from taking the pictures—right side up, upside down, or any way they looked best. Thank you. BUSINESS STAFF The yearbook sales was organized and directed by the business staff. The entire staff is to be congratulated for exceding the sales goal. JUNIORS Thanks to the Juniors for a job well done in assisting the section editors.
