Buenos Dias, Amigos, CGoodday Friendsj : For the first time in the history of Shenango High School Spanish has been offered to the students. The class consists of 18 alumnos, nine senoritas and nine senores, under the capable supervision of Miss Barker. They have formed a club which meets once a month to discuss the lan- guage, its background, and the things which tend to make it more inter- esting. By taking this course they sincerely desire to learn and become better acquainted with our southern neighbors through their language. Meetings are held on the third Friday of every month. Members of this club are responsible for the program at these meetings. Interest is promoted by the discussion of the battles and events of the Romans in the Latin days, as well as singing songs both in Latin and English, a language that has received over fifty per cent of its words from the Latin. The Circulus Latinus voted to have Veni, vidi, non vici as their motto. Some Latin has been conquered but a still greater field lies ahead to that student who may continue studying in this subject. As our Latin days draw to a close we remember with pleasure those times we forgot the translations for lively discussions, arguments, talks and above all the songs. We sign off with: Valete puellae, Valera Pueri, Valete pnellae, A robis abimus.
