UNK, FIRST ROW-Left to Right: Fuhs, Pritchard, McKissick, Mcllrath, Bannon, McGary, Hilton. SECOND Row-Miss Davis, Ehrheart, Henderson, Shaffer, Beckert, Drake, Horney. The Cannibal Queen On December 8, 1944, the Senior Class presented the comedy entitled, The Cannibal Queen . The cast under the direction of Miss Betty Davis gave an unusually outstand- ing performance. The entire action of the play took place in the lobby of the Craig House, a family type hotel run by Mrs. Craig, a widow who was energetic and friendly. Professor Kent who was staying at the hotel expected his nephew, Allen Kent, a mischievous lad who did not always tell the truth, to bring home a real South Sea Island Queen. Allen was in love with his high school sweetheart, Mildred Wade. Bruce Clyde, a peppy, likeable, fast-talking newspaper editor for the paper owned by Mrs. Julia Boyd, hears that Allen did not bring the cannibal queen. In order to save the day for himself, he gets his fiancee, Brenda, to dress up and act the part of the queen. Brenda was trying to convince Eugena Sherwood, a drama director, that she was capable of taking the leading part in a play, and Bruce persuades Brenda that in as- suming this part she will get her desire. Mary Fremont, the professor's niece, and her husband, Robert, believe the whole thing is a farce and act accordingly all through the play. Daisy Mae and Lucious Long, two colored people, act as Brenda's handmaiden and bodyguard. Just before they came into the hotel, the unexpected happened, and the real Ju Ju who followed Allen Kent to the United States came into the hotel. Things surely hap- pen fast. Finally everything turned out right when Ju Ju who already had seven hus- bands decided to take Lucious back with her to be the king, CAST OF CHARACTERS Mrs, Craig Cerner are Karna Drake Professor Kent are er., Dale McKissick Allen Kent ea,,es DW, , Dan Ehrheart Mildred Wade or D ,D an Lois Mcllrath Bruce Clyde D., or David Henderson Brenda Day r C, We sc.
