DOROTHY DOOD Faculty Adviser. . . . . .MRs. NATI'TANlEL SPENCER, Mlss SUE BELLE HILL CLASS HISTORY ' Wie entered Shenandoah College as green as any Freshman class you could imagine. For a week we lcow-towed to the upper-classmen, and then that was all over and we had to get down to work. The war hit our Freshman class hard at the opening of the second semester, and we lost nearly all of our men to the armed services. But the rest of us car- ried on faithfully and even added several new members to our class, girls, of course. We had two sets of twins-the Kottlers-Muriel and Gloria, and the U11ClC1'NVOOClS-XlVlllEl1'Cl Beefy and X!VllSO1'1. This was quite a record for any group. We remember very well that Arthur Shipe played Gabe in Ga-bvaiel Blow Yom' Horn, and that was the talk of campus for a long time. And who could forget the band organized by those famous fellows of our group: the Underwood twins, Johnnie Robson, Bill Fullam, and D. Ross. This was really a, great sensation. - Our last year at S. C. was not too different. Hazel Stouffer, LeRoy flclces, and Don Muscles were all on the Y Cabinet. But then at the end of the first semester we lost 'Musclesu so that left us onerman inltheiclass. H A The College Senior class, though small in number, sponsored numerous activities on the campus, including Chapel programs and the Christmas Banquet. We lost our adviser, Mrs. Nathanial Spencer, at the half-way mark, and Miss Sue Bell Hill was chosen to take her place.
