We began our Junior year amid heavier war-clouds and with our ranks greatly depleted. Ten of us girls and our little br r,,gC. L. Maulgcleni, slaved away at student teacliingiiand methods courses. C. L., Jeannie Slusser, Phyllis Shepp, and Rhoda Minsberg made the Touring Chorus, and though we didn't go on tour, we sang in hotels andichurches, and appeared on the stage of the Virginia Theatre. The Y added Jeannie, Phyllis and Rhoda to its cabinet and lost Janet to the vice-presidencybf the VVomen's Student Government Council. This was the year of Gabriel Blow Your Horn. Laddie Bare became increasingly famous and lovable on our campus, and in his own crude way, he announced to Carl VVeinrich that the 'famous organist's feet are too consarned big! TTT' Seniors!!! That was the score when we started the fli lirst of our four-year trek toward the slieepsllcin. And what an eventful year that was! Thoseiwere the good old days of such wonderful Lyceum appearances as Pasquale Tallarico in Piano recital, the Ben Greet Players in l'Macbe-th, and the Marine Band in concert. We Freshmen enjoyed the best faculty take-off ever produced during our four years here. Then in March, we were recognized by everyone as having successfully planned and produced a Hobo Party in the gym, as one of our then so-called Freshmen Y projects. Cheers rang loudly for Freshmen who made the Touring Chorus-Janet Geyer, Ellen Stouffer, Doris Huffer, Ann Gordon, Don Fisher, and Gilbert Tillotsong and later for Janet, new president of the YW cabinet, and for Ellen, vice-president. Defeat at Pearl Harbor and dreaded tales of war came during our Sophomore year, but thi Touring Aghprus vvas fortunate-Qpugh to secure the last Greyhound Bus to be charteiied for the duration, and we had a wonderful week's tour to' C31'OlT113.
